OX & BUCKS REGION
One of our 'youngest' regions, Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire, hit the headlines in February with their efforts in support of local anniversaries. Their first project was a montage of eleven carvings, mounted in a frame, to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the granting of the Town Charter to Abingdon. The finished work is now on permanent display in Abingdon local library. Oxfordshire County is now celebrating its 1000th birthday and the group have accepted a commission from Oxford Inspires, organisers of the county's millennium celebrations, to create three sets of five carvings each depicting aspects of the County's history.
